Jacey Macdonald is a middle school Language Arts teacher and EdAmbassador for EducationNC. Jacey graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Anthropology and German, and East Carolina University with an M.A. in Middle Grades Education. In the classroom Jacey draws on her background in Anthropology and uses Language Arts instruction as a means to broaden students’ perspectives and understandings of the world, as well as to equip students with communication skills that will enable them to actively participate in our nation’s democracy. Jacey is passionate about creating opportunities for all students to succeed.
In her work as an EdAmbassador for EducationNC, Jacey has worked to convene groups of educators to engage in group discussions and action planning around issues in educational equity. Jacey has previously served as a UNC World View OverBook Fellow and NCDPI Digital Support Writer, in which she designed curricular materials to support shifts in state standards, as well as to integrate global themes and issues across content areas.
